AI credits

See your AI credit balance and usage, add credits, use your own AI key, and set spending limits.

How AI credits work#

Every AI reply in your bots and AI Flows uses a few credits. How many depends on the AI model and the length of the conversation. Your bots keep answering as long as there are credits left.

  • Free: 100 credits every month, with every AI model. They reset on the 1st of each month (UTC), and unused credits don't carry over.
  • Pro: 1,000 credits every month. Unused monthly credits expire when the next month's credits arrive. On Pro you can also add credits, top up automatically, and use your own AI key.
  • Credits you buy don't expire.

AI usage & credits shows your balance, your monthly allowance and the date it resets.

Steps that don't use AI, such as messages, options and questions in Chat Builder, never use credits.

Check your balance and usage#

  1. 1

    Open AI usage & credits

In the sidebar, click Billing. On the AI usage & credits card, click Open.

  2. 2

    Read your balance

AI credit balance shows the credits left and a status: Active, Running low or Out of credits. It also estimates how many replies are left with the model you use most.

  3. 3

    See where credits go

Usage in this month shows the credits used per day. Below it, By bot and AI flow and By model show what used them, and Credit history lists every credit added or used.

  4. 4

    Export

Click Export CSV to download this month's usage.

Top up#

Adding credits is part of Pro. On Free, the page shows what Pro adds, with Upgrade to Pro.

  1. 1

    Pick a pack

Under Add credits, click a pack. Its price is on the button: Pay and the amount.

  2. 2

    Pay

A secure Stripe checkout opens. Agentim never sees your card number.

  3. 3

    Check the result

Back in the app you see Payment received. Credits are added within a minute, and paused AI replies resume on their own.

If you see Buying credits online isn't available right now, connect your own AI key (below), or try again later.

Auto top-up#

Auto top-up adds a pack whenever your balance drops below an amount you choose, so AI replies never pause. It's part of Pro, and only owners and admins see it, under Settings on the same page.

  1. 1

    Add a card

Under Auto top-up, click Add card. The card is used only for auto top-up.

  2. 2

    Turn it on

    Switch on Top up automatically.

  3. 3

    Set the rule

Enter When the balance drops below, for example 200, and pick the pack under Add this pack.

  4. 4

    Save

Click Save auto top-up. The summary shows exactly what will be charged and when.

For safety, auto top-up runs at most 3 times a day and 10 times a month. If the card is declined, your bank asks to confirm the payment, or the safety limit is reached, auto top-up stops and you get a notice that says what to do: change the card, or top up by hand.

Use your own AI key#

On Pro, connect your own OpenAI, Anthropic or Google Gemini key. Every AI reply that uses that provider then runs on your account with the provider, and doesn't use your Agentim credits. On Free, a saved key isn't used.

  1. 1

    Open Your own AI keys

On AI usage & credits, scroll to Your own AI keys. When credits are low, Use my own AI key on the balance card takes you there.

  2. 2

    Connect

Click Connect next to the provider and paste the API key from the provider's dashboard.

  3. 3

    Check and save

Click Check and save. Agentim makes one tiny test call to the provider before saving. Only the key's last 4 characters stay visible.

The key shows Working or Not working. Click Test to check it again, Replace to paste a new one, or Remove to go back to your Agentim credits.

Spending limits#

Owners and admins can cap AI spending under Settings on the AI usage & credits page.

SettingWhat it does
Monthly AI limit for the accountWhen this many credits are used in a month, AI replies pause until the 1st. Non-AI steps keep working. Leave empty for no limit.
Warn me when the balance drops belowYou get a notice here and in the builder. Leave empty for the default.
Models your bots may useAll models, or Only the models I pick. AI steps that use another model get the polite fallback reply instead of an AI answer, and you get a notice.

Click Save settings.

Limits per bot caps the credits one bot or AI flow may use in a month. Enter a limit next to the bot and click Save. When it's reached, only that bot's AI replies pause; your other bots keep working.

You get a notice as you get close to a limit and when you reach it. To resume right away, raise the limit. API keys can have their own monthly limit too: see Developers.

When credits run out#

When your balance reaches zero, or a monthly limit is reached:

  • AI replies pause. Your bots still run every non-AI step, and customers get your AI fallback message instead of an AI answer. You can change that message in the AI step, under Messages (see Bot settings).
  • A reply that was already running may finish, so the balance can dip just below zero for a moment. It never shows as negative.
  • You see a notice in the app with a button to fix it.

Common problems#

  • "The provider rejected this key." Copy a working key from the provider's dashboard and click Replace.
  • "That key doesn't look right." Paste the full API key, with nothing before or after it.
  • "This is part of Pro." Adding credits, auto top-up and your own key need Pro. See Billing.
  • "Checkout canceled." Nothing was charged. Pick a pack again when you're ready.
  • A bot stopped giving AI answers but others work. It reached its own limit under Limits per bot, or it uses a model that isn't on your allowed list. Raise the limit or allow the model in Settings.
